Bahlsen Akora Edelherb
Chocolate-coated gingerbread hearts · Bahlsen · Seasonal
Why it's worth it
A Christmas-only Bahlsen line that Austrian mainstream chains stock at everyday prices, sold at Billa for 2,29 EUR in a 150 g bag. The dark Edelherb shell keeps it less sweet than the milk-chocolate Vollmilch sibling, and the fruit filling stays soft in the pack, which is what the few reviewers single out. Buy it between September and December: Bahlsen files it under its winter range and it leaves the shelves for the rest of the year.
Taste
Soft honey-spice gingerbread hearts with a tangy apple-apricot fruit filling, sealed under a dark Edelherb chocolate shell; sweet overall, with the fruit cutting the spice
