worth it

Why it's worth it

Tahan halva, made from ground sesame paste and sugar syrup, is a fixture of the Bulgarian sweet shelf, eaten on its own or spread on bread with butter. It comes in classic, marble, pistachio and cocoa versions, and while similar halva exists in Czech Turkish shops it is not a mainstream Czech-chain product.

Taste

Dense, crumbly-fibrous sesame (tahini) halva; sweet and nutty with a faint bitter sesame edge
