Why it's worth it

The yellow-wrapped Carambar has been a French playground staple since 1954 and is as much a piece of national folklore as a sweet, thanks to the notoriously bad jokes printed inside every wrapper. The caramel itself has a deep burnt-sugar taste that reviewers compare to the crisp top of a creme brulee, and there is no equivalent on Czech shelves.
