Gavottes CrĂŞpes Dentelle L'authentique

Thin rolled butter wafers · Gavottes · Biscuits & wafers · Brittany

must-try

Why it's worth it

The crĂŞpe dentelle ("lace crepe") was born from a Breton pastry mistake, and Gavottes has been the original commercial maker since 1920. Made from just flour, butter and sugar, the wafers are ultra-thin, ultra-crisp and ultra-buttery, and this delicate rolled format has no direct twin on Czech shelves.

Taste

Ultra-thin rolled lace crĂŞpes made of flour, butter and sugar; shatteringly crisp and richly buttery, melts on the tongue

If you know Czech shelves

No CZ shelf twin; the closest category cousin is a rolled wafer, but the lace-crepe texture is unique
