Why it's worth it

Ricoré, "l'ami du petit-déjeuner", has been the French chicory-coffee breakfast drink since 1953, its 1980s ads etched into the national memory. The chicory rounds off the coffee's bitterness for a soft morning cup, and while Czechs know grain-coffee substitutes, the Ricoré café-chicorée blend itself is not on Czech shelves.

Taste

Instant blend of chicory (over 60%) and coffee; softly roasted with hazelnut-and-caramel notes, gentler and less bitter than pure coffee
