worth it

Why it's worth it

Haitoglou of Thessaloniki has processed sesame since 1924 and is the leading processor and supplier of sesame seeds worldwide, the name behind Macedonian halva and tahini. Greeks eat tahini with honey on bread, especially during fasting periods. A distinctly Greek pantry staple rather than a Czech supermarket item.

Taste

Pure stone-ground sesame paste; nutty, savoury and slightly bitter, classically eaten drizzled with honey on bread
