Katarzynki are the icon of Toruń gingerbread, made by Kopernik (the world's oldest gingerbread factory, roots to 1763) in the shape of six connected circles named after a legendary baker's daughter Catherine. Czech perník exists, but the Toruń Katarzynka is a regional protected classic with no direct Czech equivalent.
