Wedel Torcik Wedlowski (Hand-Decorated Wafer Cake)

Chocolate-covered wafer cake · Wedel · Biscuits & wafers · Warsaw

must-try

Why it's worth it

The interwar Wedel classic and one of the most distinctly Polish edible souvenirs there is: a round wafer cake dipped in chocolate and then hand-decorated, so no two are alike. It has no Czech shelf twin, which makes it the single most take-home-worthy sweet in a Polish supermarket for a Czech traveler.

Taste

Crisp layered wafer with smooth peanut cream, enrobed in dark chocolate; balanced crunch-and-cream, nutty and not too sweet
